Load point publication and availability in third-party apps
Publication of charge points through roaming hubs - responsibilities of CPO and eMSP
When a Charge Point Operator (CPO) wishes to make a charge point publicly available, it does so through a roaming hub such as e-clearing.net, Gireve or OCPI-compliant platforms. In doing so, the CPO publishes the relevant static and dynamic charge point data (such as location, connector information, availability, tariffs and authentication requirements) in the roaming platform, in accordance with applicable roaming standards (such as OCPI or OCHP).
Once this data is shared correctly and completely through the roaming hub, the charge point is technically publicly available to all eMobility Service Providers (eMSPs) linked to that same hub. The CPO has fulfilled its responsibility at that point.
It is then entirely up to the eMSPs to retrieve, process and incorporate this charge point data into their front-end channels such as apps, portals or navigation systems. The timing, frequency of synchronization and selection criteria (e.g., filtering by location, type or operator) are determined by the eMSP. The CPO has no influence on these processes and therefore cannot be held responsible for whether or not a charging point is visible in specific eMSP platforms, nor for the speed at which this happens.
In short, a CPO makes a charge point public by publishing it through a roaming hub. Distribution to end users via apps and websites is entirely the responsibility and control of the eMSPs.
